Eventoverview

sentenso regularly organises trainings, hosts industry meetings and is active at trade shows, congresses and seminars.

Would you like to meet us at one of these events? Please get in touch with us. We are looking forward to an interesting discussion.

May 29-31

ECHT European Conference on Heat Treatment

Scientific conference with innovations in heat treatment of components

In addition to the thermal processes of iron and steel as well as non-ferrous materials, the main topics of the conference are hardening and cooling, heat treatment and downstream processes such as shot peening. Topics of additive manufacturing as well as the ecological aspects of heat treatment are gaining increasing importance.

The aim of ECHT is to promote international cooperation and communication in the field of heat treatment and surface engineering.

The conference will be held in Magazzini del Cotone, Genoa in Italy.

May 23-25

sentenso Shot peening workshop in Datteln

Unique combination of theory and practice

The shot peening workshop with FAA-approved and for Nadcap relevant training content of levels 1 to 3 as well as rotary flap peening in German and English is in preparation. The workshop is characterized by its extensive practical program at sentenso’s technical center in Datteln, where otherwise sophisticated shot peening processes are developed. There are still free places available.

Date open

AWT Technical committee 13 Intrinsic stress

Presentation and discussion of current studies on the causes, effects and benefits of residual stress

The field of activity of the expert committee covers new developments from basic research to application issues and deals with topics ranging from the origin to the analysis and evaluation to the simulation of residual stresses.

In particular, the participants from universities, institutes and companies also work on all processes relevant in practice for the strengthening of components through the targeted introduction of residual compressive stresses.

The date and place of the event as well as details of the session are still to be announced.

April 19

DGM Technical Committee Mechanical Surface Treatments

Meeting and professional exchange in the field of mechanical surface treatment

The technical committee deals with scientific and application-related issues of mechanical surface treatments. The main focus is on the improvement of component properties and the further development of upgrading processes.

The participating members from science, research and industry work on a sound understanding of the relationships between process parameters of mechanical surface treatment, component conditions and the resulting component properties.

This time, the DGM expert committee is meeting at the Leibniz Institute for Material-Oriented Technologies in Bremen.

Information of the organizer

Date open

User meeting cos-alpha

Meeting and professional exchange of users of cos-alpha residual stress analysis

The µ-X360s – cos-alpha user meeting for residual stress analysis organized by sentenso on a regular basis ensures an intensive exchange of experience among German users of the cos-alpha method with Pulstec’s µ-X360s X-ray diffractometer.

In addition to the exchange of experience on measurement practice, sentenso will provide information on new hardware and software solutions for measurement automation as well as best practice approaches for solving measurement tasks.

New people interested in the measurement system are also welcome. The event date is yet to be announced.

Date open

Laser Shock Peening Demonstration

Mobile Laser Shock Peening on different materials

Compared to shot peening, laser shock peening offers another possibility to extend the lifetime of cyclically loaded components by introducing residual compressive stresses.

Following successful live demonstrations of mobile and automated laser shock peening without prior coating at EcoMaT in Bremen, sentenso and LAcubed are planning further demonstrations of the laser shock peening technology with subsequent residual stress determination next spring. Until then, the teams will focus on further development of the laser on different materials for applications in the aerospace and automotive industries.

The exact event date and venue are yet to be announced.
