Frequently Asked Questions about the RotoFlapMaster

Find answers about how the RotoFlapMaster works, its applications, and practical operation in Roto Flap Peening.

What is the RotoFlapMaster system?

The RotoFlapMaster is an innovative, field-proven drive system for Roto Flap Peening. Developed in close cooperation with experienced users from the aerospace industry, it provides comprehensive process control, excellent ease of use, and cordless operation.

What applications is the RotoFlapMaster suitable for?

Today, Roto Flap Peening applications extend far beyond traditional aircraft repair processes. Other large components, such as those used in the energy sector, can also be treated locally with reliable process control, without the need for free-flying spherical blasting media.

What is particularly important for process reliability?

Continuous monitoring of the flap rotation speed is essential for achieving reliable and consistent results. The RotoFlapMaster menu helps operators select the correct rotation speed based on the flap size and the required peening intensity.

How is the RotoFlapMaster operated?

The drive can be started and stopped, and the stopwatch or countdown timer can be activated using a single button on the handpiece. A colour-coded indicator also shows whether the correct rotation speed has been reached.

Why is cordless battery operation so important?

One of the system’s greatest advantages is its cordless, battery-powered operation. This enables mobile and flexible use in practical applications, without depending on a fixed power supply at the work site.

Which handpiece versions are available?

The RotoFlapMaster is available with a straight handpiece and a new 90° angled handpiece. Both versions enable ergonomic and efficient Flap Peening in a wide range of applications. Their design is based on specific customer requirements derived from actual repair operations on aircraft components.

Is the angled handpiece compatible with the existing control unit?

Yes. The angled handpiece is fully compatible with the established control unit and can be exchanged quickly and easily with the straight handpiece thanks to its push-pull connector. Existing RotoFlapMaster kits can also be retrofitted without difficulty.

Which standards and specifications does the system comply with?

The system meets the requirements of AMS2950 and other relevant specifications.

What is included in the sentenso Roto Flap Peening Kit Pro?

The Kit Pro is a complete, practical solution featuring the RotoFlapMaster drive system, measuring and testing equipment, and a digital Almen gauge, all housed in a transport case with wheels and a telescopic handle. The kit includes, among other items, a portable control unit with battery slot, straight and angled handpieces, 1/4" and 10 mm collets, two lithium-ion battery packs with a fast charger, a shoulder strap, a calibration certificate and documentation. Additional Roto Flap Peening accessories are available as optional extras.
